Steve Jobs will be at D8:All Things Digital again this year. Last time he appeared was at D5, with Bill Gates, and the interview was fascinating.

Really looking forward to this.

Why Apple is Kicking Everyone's Ass → thenakedentrepreneurs.com

Sony is, in my opinion, the worst offender. In the past decade, I have seen Sony release cutting-edge gadgets to the market before anyone else. The PSP was an amazing gadget when it came out, in theory. It played music, videos, viewed photos, surfed the web, and of course, played games. The problem was that, excluding the last feature, it didn’t do any of them well.

This is exactly why, out of the blue, Apple is a major player in the mobile gaming market.

Amazing gadget’s need amazing software or they are just amazing at being ordinary.

IT'S NICE TO MEET YOU. → kin.com

Shame the whole site is in flash, the design gives you motion sickness…oh and nobody cares about a phone that looks like a pancake.

Great points. It’s amazing how quickly people forget what things were like before the iPhone.

Drobo FS: finally, Data Robotics releases a Drobo NAS drive -- Engadget → engadget.com

Gigabit connectivity and Drobo’s usual ‘just add a disk whenever’ all in one box. Awesome.

Also good to see that big ‘ol fan grill on the back, should help keep the fan quiet.

“I have met five British Prime Ministers, two American Presidents, Nelson Mandela, Michael Jackson and the Queen. My hour with Steve Jobs certainly made me more nervous than any of those encounters. I know what you are thinking, but it’s the truth.” — Stephen Fry for TIME from The iPad Launch: Can Steve Jobs Do It Again? (via andytlr)

Andy Ihnatko on the iPad and Multitasking → ihnatko.com

Andy Ihnatko makes the point about multi-tasking on the iPad better than I ever could. Until Apple can make it ‘perfect’ it won’t see the light of day.
